Come Ride the ASCR Train...

In the Music Industry context, a "Wannabe" is typically defined as a person who aspires to be a musician or artist but is perceived as trying to imitate others rather than developing their own authentic style.

A Wannabe Musician often tries hard to emulate popular or successful Artists, sometimes lacking original creativity or genuine skill. This term can carry a negative connotation, implying a lack of true Talent or Authenticity, and is often used to describe those who are seen as posing or copying rather than genuinely contributing to Music.

However, many aspiring Artists feel like Wannabes at some point in their journey—struggling with self-doubt, motivation, and the challenge of finding their unique voice while navigating the competitive music world.

But to me, I feel strongly that having some Covers from the Classic Rock Era adds depth to a Setlist... so the challenge is to create Setlist diversity: Incorporating covers without overshadowing original Compositions can be a delicate balance to maintain a cohesive show and artistic direction.

ASCR emphasizes 50s–70s Artists for modern Band development because this Era represents a foundational period in the evolution of Rock Music... where many groundbreaking Innovations in Composition, Musicianship, and Production Techniques emerged.

Classic Rock Bands and Artists (see below) pushed creative Boundaries with elaborate Guitar Riffs and Solos, Conceptual Albums, and Innovative Recording approaches that set standards still widely influential today. The music from the 50s to 70s captures a rich diversity of styles, including Rock, Disco, Punk, Country, and Singer-Songwriter traditions... providing a comprehensive and timeless base for understanding Musical structure, Dynamics, and Expression.

By studying these Artists, modern Musicians deepen their Mastery of core Musical Elements and gain insight into influential Styles that continue to inspire and shape Contemporary Music, equipping them with the Skills and Knowledge vital for modern Band development and creative Innovation.

This emphasis not only honors a Golden Age of Music but also equips students with practical tools and historical context that enrich their Artistic identity and performance Skills in today's music environment.
